The Centre d’interprétation de l’eau (C.I.EAU) de Laval is a nonprofit organization, a museum and a scientific institution, all at the same time. Created in 2002, the Centre is located in Laval’s Sainte-Rose neighbourhood, on the shore of the Mille-Îles River.
Its mission is to inform citizens about the water cycle in urban settings. Through exhibitions, conferences and experiments that are both scientific and recreational, it raises awareness about the importance of water. At a moment when climate change magnifies all the issues related to water, it explains why we must treasure it.
In August of 2023, the C.I.EAU de Laval will offer many activities geared towards families. On August 12, starting at 10am, the Bienvenue à Eauville (Welcome to Waterville) event will propose an unforgettable day of adventure, discovery and awareness about water and climate change.
This free event will take place at Laval’s Berge des baigneurs. It will showcase recreational activities, scientific presentation and a great exhibit. Throughout the day, children will have a chance to participate in a treasure hunt and win prizes. Moreover, the evening will be devoted to watching the Perseids. Supported by the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation du Québec as part of the Soutien au rayonnement des régions component of the Fonds régions et ruralité, this event will allow families to learn more about the issues surrounding water while having a lot of fun!
