This app is the beginning of a digital transformation that will help shift us from provider-focused care to patient-focused care. This app is the first step in our development of a health information system, of which telehealth will be a large component. Telehealth will allow the JGH to improve patient access to outpatient services and greatly improve the user experience by providing more agency to the patient, ensuring patient safety, allowing for more regular monitoring the use of mediation, blood pressure, etc. It will involve transitioning our outpatient clinics to a tele-health paradigm, including an Al-based approach. This will be especially vital in the coming months as it will allow vulnerable patients to be monitored from their homes. Avoiding the commute to the hospital or clinic limits their risk of being exposed to a potential second wave of the pandemic.
