Institut Canadien de Recherche et de Formation sur la Surdité

CDRTI will provide Deaf individuals access to urgently needed information, ensuring that materials and on-line resources are available in accessible formats. Current needs will be evaluated in consultation with our extensive Deaf community networks in Montreal and elsewhere in Canada. In complement to making information accessible to the Deaf community, we also propose to implement specialized resources at the MUHC. For example, a previously designed Tool-Kit will be made available to healthcare professionals, providing strategies and resources for serving the Deaf community. Special emphasis will be placed on appropriate adaptations of virtual platforms and also on-line interpretation services such as the Video Relay Service and Video Remote Interpretation. Activity deliverables include: 1) the provision of physical and mental health information in accessible formats to members of the minority Anglophone Deaf community and, 2) implementation of multi-media informational materials (Tool-Kit) to healthcare providers at the MUHC
