The 2023 Montreal Climate Summit

Taking action together for the climate

The 2nd edition of the Montreal Climate Summit will take place on May 9 and 10, 2023, at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montréal. This great annual gathering aims to accelerate climate action in our city as we look ahead to 2030. It will also be an occasion to discuss the progress we have made since the first Summit in 2022.

In response to the popularity of the event within civil society last year, this edition will be even more ambitious and propose a strong and diverse program built in collaboration with about twenty key partners. New, wide-ranging commitments will be pledged by different stakeholders across many fields. Hundreds of participants and dozens of panelists will assemble to look for solutions. Among other issues, they will focus on how to:

  • speed up the decarbonation of buildings and our transportation network;
  • move on to sustainable, but also equitable, forms of mobility;
  • strengthen the role of the business and finance sectors in the fight against climate change;
  • turn that fight into a tool to also combat social and economic inequalities, especially in terms of adaptation;
  • boost the part played by the philanthropy and healthcare sectors in Montreal’s climate efforts.

We are in a critical moment for the climate. Only by pooling the resources of Montréal’s key economic, philanthropic, institutional, community and cultural players will we be able to make major advances on climate change and improve the city’s resilience. Join leaders from all backgrounds to take action on climate change!
