Montreal, May 12, 2026 – The Foundation of Greater Montreal (FGM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brigitte Boucher as Director of Philanthropic Development, Marketing and Communications. Having served as Executive Director of the Fondation Bon départ de Canadian Tire du Québec for four years, she brings nearly 20 years of experience in philanthropy, including work with the Réseau des diplômés et des donateurs de l’Université de Montréal and the Fonds de développement et des relations avec les diplômés de l’École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). She will join FGM on May 25.
“I firmly believe that the philanthropic sector can and must position itself as a structuring force, equipped with rigorous governance practices, sound financial models, and a confident voice in the public sphere. FGM’s vision and my own are perfectly aligned on these matters, so I did not hesitate to seize the opportunity to join this team — and I can’t wait to get to work!” said Ms. Boucher.
“Brigitte’s extensive experience in philanthropic development, relationship marketing, and strategic management will be extraordinary assets for the Foundation of Greater Montréal. Through Brigitte’s leadership, we aspire to further strengthen the quality of the services we offer them, to the greatest benefit of the Greater Montreal community,” added Luc Rabouin, FGM’s President and CEO.
As a community foundation, the Foundation of Greater Montréal is a charitable organization dedicated to bringing together and managing philanthropic funds to address identified needs in its territory. It enables anyone to develop their own philanthropic project, brings the community together around the challenges it faces, and supports the search for innovative and lasting solutions to those challenges. In short, FGM connects organizations that respond to community needs with individuals who wish to help them fulfill their mission.
With more than half a billion dollars in assets under management spread across nearly 800 philanthropic funds, the Foundation of Greater Montreal is the largest community foundation in Quebec and the sixth largest in Canada. In 2025, it granted more than $19M to nearly 630 organizations and initiatives in Greater Montreal working across all sectors. Since its founding in 2000, it has distributed more than $225M in the community.
