In 2019, the Orchestre de l’Agora set up an endowment fund with the Foundation of Greater Montréal. Working closely with the Mécénat Musica program, it has strived to increase its market value year after year ever since.
In March 2026, that fund will reach $3 million in accumulated capital, generating $150,000 in recurrent annual income for the Orchestra, in perpetuity. This success is the result of the dedication of more than 25 donors who have supported the fund since its creation; the Orchestre de l’Agora extends their warmest thanks to them. Matching funds from the Mécénat Placements Culture and Canadian Heritage programs have helped the orchestra reach this milestone. The Orchestre de l’Agora also thanks the Foundation of Greater Montréal team for their invaluable work.
The endowment fund ensures the long-term viability of the orchestra, enabling them to fully carry out their mission. Since its creation in 2013, the Orchestre de l’Agora under Nicolas Ellis’ artistic direction has been committed to using music as a vehicle for lasting social change. Their innovative concerts and inspiring projects solder music, community engagement, and social innovation together.
