Resilience Montreal is committed to offering services to the homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic. When COVID-19 hit Montreal, most organizations serving the Indigenous and non-Indigenous homeless populations either shut down or greatly reduced their services. As a result, Resilience has had to adjust its services to accommodate a huge influx of new service users from all over Montreal. We are currently serving 300-400 individuals a day, with the need expected to grow in the coming months. As our original location (4000 Rue Ste Catherine) could not safely accommodate clients due to the sanitary and distancing measures required to combat COVID-19, we moved our services outside to Cabot Square on March 26th, 2020. Resilience has been offering meals, clothing and blankets, as well as advocacy and accompaniment to the homeless since the outbreak began and will continue to do so for its duration. With your support, we hope to continue to mitigate the devastating impacts of this outbreak on the urban Indigenous homeless community by providing emergency front line services.
