Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center (KORLCC)

Oherokon Kahnawake is a Rites of Passage group for young women from the community. The goal is through ceremonial practices, traditional teachings, talking circles and group activities that the young women gain the knowledge and self confidence to be confident in their identity as Kanien’keha:ka and their responsibilities as women of the community. The following activities will take place: talking circles, workshops on self esteem, leadership, healthy communication and sexuality, activities and workshops such as beadwork, basket making, and shawl making, fasting, traditional singing, outdoor survival skills, Creation Story and depending on the language level of the group, some activities will be held in the Kanien’keha language.
