The Foundation of Greater Montréal is happy to announce that the Trottier Family Foundation has joined the financial partners of the Collective Fund for Social Equity, with a total contribution of almost $1.2 million. This amount will go towards six additional organizations which will receive the Fund’s support over the next three years. This brings to 22 the total number of the Fund’s recipients for the 2024-2026 period, during which those organizations will share a combined total of close to $4.5 million.

The additional recipients are as follows:

ASTTeQ

Action Santé Travesti(e)s et Transexuel(le)s du Québec (ASTTeQ) offers basic services to trans migrants, including legal assistance adapted to the specific needs of trans people, access to health services and community support.

Brique par Brique

Brick by Brick supports grassroots community leaders and helps them develop emerging initiatives. Its aim is to financially support community projects that build the capacity of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants with different immigration statuses.

Montreal City Mission

The Mission offers Solutions justes, a legal clinic offering free support to the most vulnerable migrants, particularly in the appeals and regularization process. It also does advocacy, awareness-raising and training for future immigration lawyers.

DTMF-RHFW

The Association for the Rights of House and Farm Workers launched a class action in 2023, to challenge the Canadian system of closed work permits as contrary to the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Femmes VEE

Femmes VEE is an organisation by and for women of African descent that offers administrative support to asylum seekers, refugees and people with temporary status in terms of training, job search, support in completing documents and mental health.

Le Pont

Le Pont offers temporary and emergency accommodation for asylum seekers. It aims to improve immigration consultation services to facilitate administrative procedures, develop partnerships and mobilise partners.
