Six Greater Montréal organizations receive grants of $15,000 to $30,000 from the Foundation of Greater Montréal.
Montréal, December 15, 2011 – TheFoundation of Greater Montréal (FGM) is pleased to announce the names of the winners of its capacity-building grants: Atwater Library, Frontier College, Eastern Bloc, Le Groupe L’Itinéraire, Ressources Jeunesse de Saint-Laurent and Société d’éducation pour le cyclisme à Montréal. Each will receive a grant of between $15,000 and $30,000 intended to improve their equipment and increase their effectiveness. “We wish to give those organizations the means to broaden their mission, reach a greater number of people, and have a more significant impact on the community”, comments Marina Boulos, President and CEO of the FGM.

The Foundation of Greater Montreal unveils the results of its annual check-up on the health of the metropolitan area.

Montreal, October 4th, 2011 – The Foundation of Greater Montreal (FGM) has unveiled the fifth edition of Greater Montreal’s Vital Signs, its annual check-up of the metropolitan area by examining striking statistics about the quality of life, both positive and surprising. Twenty-two Canadian community foundations have also published their local check-up.

The Foundation of Greater Montreal announces $1.5 million in grants to support local community organizations
Montréal, August 9th, 2011– With grants totalling more than $1,578,854, the Foundation of Greater Montreal (FGM) today announced its wide-ranging community support for 2011. 
 
To date, over 75 carefully selected non-profit organizations in the Greater Montreal area, were awarded $734,522 or 47% of the grants, distributed through the Community Grants Program. The balance was distributed from designated and donor-advised funds. All funds created at the FGM are endowments created by donors. Grants made through the Community Grants Program are focused on the city's most pressing needs outlined in Greater Montreal Vital Signs, an annual publication that recommends philanthropic investment priorities.

The Foundation of Greater Montreal raised $217,000 during a Rollicking Benefit Roast for Past Board Chairman Marcel Côté. Under the Honourary Chairmanship of Isabelle Hudon, the Foundation of Greater Montreal’s benefit event gathered some big names in the business and political worlds to pay tribute to head honcho, Marcel Côté, founding partner of SECOR.

Richard W. Pound is Named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation of Greater Montreal
Montreal, June 15, 2011 – The Foundation of Greater Montreal (FGM) is pleased to announce the nomination of Richard W. Pound as Chairman of the Board of Directors. At the Annual General Assembly held on June 15, the following members were also appointed to the Board of Directors: Tim Brodhead, Norman E. Hébert Jr., Peter McAuslan, and Michael Novak. The FGM is overseen by a 20-member Board of Directors.
