The mission of the Fonds Alexandre Poce is to support organizations that help people with physical disabilities, ideally involving the spinal cord (spinal cord injury), who wish to pursue higher education by providing scholarships. Also, to support a research fund that provides concrete solutions to improve the daily lives of these people.<\/p>\n

Through the following questionnaire (in French), its creator tells his story and explains the motivation behind the Fonds Alexandre Poce.<\/p>\n

Qui est Alexandre Poce ?<\/h5>\n

Je m’appelle Alexandre. J\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 ce jeune homme fougueux, \u00e9nergique, hyperactif\u2026 un vrai passionn\u00e9 de la vie. \u00c0 16 ans, sur une glace de hockey, tout a bascul\u00e9. Le 14 mars 1987, un contact brutal avec la bande m\u2019a laiss\u00e9 paralys\u00e9 du cou jusqu\u2019aux orteils. T\u00e9trapl\u00e9gique. Les m\u00e9decins m\u2019avaient donn\u00e9 deux semaines \u00e0 vivre.<\/p>\n

Mais j\u2019ai choisi de me battre.<\/p>\n

J\u2019ai refus\u00e9 de me laisser d\u00e9finir par mon handicap. Au lieu d\u2019abandonner, j\u2019ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de r\u00eaver encore plus fort. J\u2019ai poursuivi des \u00e9tudes de droit, je suis devenu avocat, puis directeur de fondations, conseiller municipal, conf\u00e9rencier\u2026 et en 2024, j\u2019ai m\u00eame compl\u00e9t\u00e9 un MBA, sans jamais pouvoir bouger mes bras ni mes jambes. Chaque \u00e9tape de mon parcours a \u00e9t\u00e9 un d\u00e9fi colossal. Mais dans ce corps fig\u00e9, il y a toujours eu une t\u00eate remplie d’id\u00e9es, un coeur br\u00fblant d\u2019espoir, et une volont\u00e9 de fer. C\u2019est ce qui m\u2019a permis d\u2019aller au bout de mes r\u00eaves\u2026 et de continuer \u00e0 en avoir comme celui de devenir s\u00e9nateur.<\/p>\n

Pourquoi je vous \u00e9cris aujourd\u2019hui ?<\/h5>\n

Parce qu\u2019\u00e0 travers mon histoire, j\u2019ai compris une chose essentielle : \u00ab les seules vraies limites sont celles qu\u2019on s\u2019impose.<\/strong><\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n

J\u2019ai rencontr\u00e9 l\u2019isolement, la d\u00e9pendance totale, le d\u00e9couragement\u2026 Mais j\u2019ai aussi connu l\u2019amiti\u00e9, le soutien, et la magie de croire encore. C\u2019est ce message que je transmets dans mes conf\u00e9rences, dans mes \u00e9crits, dans mes rencontres : peu importe les obstacles, il est toujours possible de se relever, de se d\u00e9passer, de transformer la douleur en puissance de vivre.<\/p>\n

Pourquoi le Fonds Alexandre Poce ?<\/h5>\n

Parce que j\u2019ai eu la chance d\u2019\u00eatre entour\u00e9. D\u2019avoir une famille, des amis, des gens qui ont cru en moi m\u00eame quand tout semblait impossible.<\/p>\n

Mais tout le monde n\u2019a pas cette chance.<\/p>\n

Le Fonds Alexandre Poce est ma fa\u00e7on de redonner. Il vise \u00e0 soutenir les personnes vivant avec un handicap physique, \u00e0 leur offrir les moyens d\u2019\u00e9tudier, de s\u2019\u00e9panouir, de contribuer, de r\u00eaver, de se b\u00e2tir une vie \u00e0 la hauteur de leur potentiel. Parce qu\u2019un r\u00eave ne devrait jamais \u00eatre enterr\u00e9 sous le poids d\u2019un fauteuil roulant ou d\u2019une injustice sociale.<\/p>\n
