Une enqu\u00eate r\u00e9v\u00e8le ensuite qu&rsquo;un d\u00e9fibrillateur aurait pu la sauver. Suite \u00e0 cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement, sa s\u0153ur Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Thorn ainsi que son amie Marie-H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Proulx, alors toutes deux \u00e9tudiantes, d\u00e9cident d\u2019agir afin d\u2019\u00e9viter qu&rsquo;une telle trag\u00e9die ne se reproduise.<\/p>\n<p>Avec le soutien de la Fondation du Grand Montr\u00e9al, elles cr\u00e9ent le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jedonneenligne.org\/fgm\/COMMFGM\/?FpsUID1=1&amp;FpsUID=&amp;FpsUID193=390\">Fonds Julie Thorn<\/a> avec un investissement initial de 80$. Leur objectif est de fournir des d\u00e9fibrillateurs externes automatis\u00e9s ainsi que de la formation sur la r\u00e9animation cardio-respiratoire (RCR) dans les \u00e9coles, afin de pr\u00e9venir d&rsquo;autres incidents mortels. Pour y parvenir, elles ont pour but de r\u00e9colter 10\u00a0000 dollars en 5 ans.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 peine quatre ans apr\u00e8s la cr\u00e9ation du fonds, elles atteignent leur premier objectif avec 15\u00a0000 dollars amass\u00e9s lors de multiples activit\u00e9s de collecte de fonds. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur engagement, le fonds est enfin en mesure de verser une premi\u00e8re subvention de 1\u00a0235\u00a0$ \u00e0 la <a href=\"http:\/\/fondationact.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fondation ACT<\/a>, qui met en \u0153uvre le programme de RCR et de d\u00e9fibrillation au secondaire. Ce don servira \u00e0 \u00e9quiper une premi\u00e8re \u00e9cole d\u2019un d\u00e9fibrillateur.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00e9vrier 2020 a marqu\u00e9 un nouveau jalon dans l\u2019\u00e9volution de leur fonds puisqu\u2019elles ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 fournir \u00e0 la polyvalente Deux-Montagnes (l\u2019\u00e9cole de Julie) quatre mannequins et trois d\u00e9fibrillateurs de formation, qui permettent \u00e0 tous les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de l\u2019\u00e9cole d\u2019\u00eatre form\u00e9s aux soins de r\u00e9animation cardio-respiratoire. Leur mission est sur la bonne voie et elles envisagent maintenant d\u2019organiser de nouvelles lev\u00e9es de fonds.<\/p>\n<p>Merci aux instigatrices du Fonds Julie Thorn pour leur engagement \u00e0 soutenir la formation \u00e0 la r\u00e9animation cardio-respiratoire des jeunes du Grand Montr\u00e9al.
