The Foundation of Greater Montreal (FGM) and its philanthropic partners &#8211; members of the COVID Quebec Consortium (CQC) &#8211; have joined forces to support this community response to the pandemic. Significant learnings have been generated from navigating this unprecedented experience over the past two years.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, the CQC commissioned two reports from the <a href=\"http:\/\/cite-id.com\/en\/\">Cit\u00e9-ID LivingLab<\/a> at the \u00c9cole nationale d&rsquo;administration publique du Qu\u00e9bec (\u00c9NAP), in collaboration with Montreal Public Health and members of the Department of Epidemiology at McGill University. These two studies are now being made available to the public. An executive summary and a detailed presentation are also available on <a href=\"https:\/\/fgmtl.org\/copieprod\/nouvelles\/billet-de-blogue\/consortium-covid-quebec-un-bilan\/\">FGM&rsquo;s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>A community endeavour<\/h4>\n<p>Launched in April 2020 by a group of foundations including the Jarislowsky Foundation, the Molson Foundation, the Mirella and Lino Saputo Foundation, the Trottier Family Foundation, and other partners, the CQC was administered by FGM in collaboration with Philanthropic Foundations Canada (PFC). Its objectives were to stop the transmission of COVID-19, to support screening and vaccination campaigns, and to protect the most vulnerable populations in Greater Montreal. Over many months, funders committed more than $12.5 million to support communication and awareness-raising activities, community mobilization, as well as individual material and psychosocial support, among other initiatives. The support of the Canadian Red Cross has also been essential throughout the process.<\/p>\n<p>The first report, <a href=\"https:\/\/fgmtl.org\/copieprod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rapport_Indicateurs_pandemie_PAC_VF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>\u00c9tude de compr\u00e9hension des plans d\u2019action communautaires de lutte \u00e0 la COVID-19\u00a0: impacts sur les indicateurs de suivi de la pand\u00e9mie<\/em><\/a> (available in French), aims to quantitatively understand the effect of CAPs on statistical indicators of pandemic tracking in communities. The second report, <a href=\"https:\/\/fgmtl.org\/copieprod\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rapport_Gouv_Collaborative_PAC_VF.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Mise en \u0153uvre d\u2019une gouvernance collaborative fond\u00e9e sur l\u2019engagement communautaire pour une gestion de crise sanitaire r\u00e9siliente\u00a0: une \u00e9tude des plans d\u2019action communautaires de lutte \u00e0 la COVID-19<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(available in French), shares lessons learned around local community engagement from the CAPs intervention model. The study analyzed the CAPs\u2019 conditions at the start of the project, governance, and implementation in eight jurisdictions. The two reports also provide a <a href=\"https:\/\/fgmtl.org\/copieprod\/nouvelles\/billet-de-blogue\/consortium-covid-quebec-un-bilan\/\">series of findings and recommendations<\/a> (available in French) on how to strengthen community and stakeholder resilience in the future.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Quotes<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>\u201cAfter two years of the pandemic, our community must do everything possible to rebuild its resilience and strengthen the capacities of the community leaders and organizations who play a key role in our collective well-being.
