Despite tremendous needs, organizations working directly with women and girls are often overlooked by large philanthropic institutions and receive little funding from them. In response, the Foundation of Greater Montr\u00e9al and a group of volunteer women are proud to have launched a new giving initiative: the Women’s Impact Montr\u00e9al Collective Fund at FGM (WIM Fund).<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2021, about $1 million have been granted through the Fund, to nonprofits supporting the well-being of women and girls in Greater Montr\u00e9al. To learn more about the WIM Fund’s structure and impact over the last three years, download this summary document<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Note to organizations looking for funding: the WIM Fund’s current granting cycle, which took place on an invitational basis only, is now closed. The recipient organizations for 2025 are listed below. The WIM Fund in 2025<\/h2>\n

The Women\u2019s Impact Montr\u00e9al Collective Fund (WIM Fund) at the Foundation of Greater Montr\u00e9al offers financial support to local community organizations that are directly serving Greater Montr\u00e9al\u2019s women and girls in order to improve their life circumstances and defend their rights. Persons identifying as immigrant, Black, racialized or Indigenous women are particularly vulnerable, especially those living in poverty or social isolation. Members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, as well as those who live with functional limitations or who are neurodivergent, are also more at risk of being discriminated against.<\/p>\n

FGM therefore gives priority to organizations and projects targeting one or more of those groups. In 2024, the Fund has focused on the following topics of intervention: violence committed against individuals identifying as women, access to employment and women’s entrepreneurship, mental health, especially among youths, and women\u2019s and girls\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n

Vital Signs 2022 : the women and girls of Greater Montr\u00e9al<\/h2>\n

This edition of Vital Signs is an overview of the situation of women and girls in Greater Montreal, which focuses on violence committed against them, their mental health, as well as their employment conditions and workplace integration. It also deals with the particular situations experienced by LGBTQ2S+ people, Indigenous, immigrant and racialized women, female youths and adolescents, senior and single-parent women, and those living with a disability or experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n
